One of the Bethel Baptist Secondary School students kidnapped in Kaduna state’s Chikun local government area has been recovered.
Security forces freed the student, Abraham Aniya, along with two other kidnap victims who were taken by bandits along the Kaduna-Kachia road a few days ago.
The three victims were rescued during a routine patrol expedition around the woodland of Tsohon Gaya village in Chikun LGA of Kaduna State, according to the Katsina Police Command.
On Tuesday, security operatives rescued the three abduction victims as they were roaming inside the forest, fatigued and weak, near Tshohon Gaya village in Chikun local government area, according to the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige.
The victims were successfully evacuated and transported to the Police Clinic in the state capital, where they are currently being resuscitated before being handed over to their relatives, according to Jalinge.
The statement in part reads, “On the 12th July 2021, at about 3:40 pm the Operatives of the Command alongside Civilian JTF during a routine rescue patrol around the forest of Tsohon Gaya village of Chikun LGA of Kaduna State stumbled on three kidnapped victims roaming the bush extremely exhausted and weak.
“The victims were safely evacuated and rushed to Police Clinic Kaduna where they are currently being resuscitated and will subsequently be handed over to their immediate families.”
The freed victims, Zaharaddeen Ibrahim and Nura Nuhu, were kidnapped lately along the Kaduna–Kachia Road, according to the police.
The Command reminded the public that it is working hard to guarantee that further casualties are rescued as soon as possible.”
