The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially revealed the list of candidates for the November 6 governorship election, with Prof Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance being glaringly absent (APGA).
Valentine Ozigbo, the acclaimed winner of the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship primary, is also not on the list of Governorship Candidates (PDP).
Prof Soludo was replaced with Chukwuma Michael Umeoji for the APGA, while “Court Order” was simply typed in the Peoples Democratic Party box.
In the list published on Friday, INEC stated that in obedience to court orders, the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Mr Valentine Ozigbo and that of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo had to be dropped.
Emmanuel Andy Ubah, a 62-year-old candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), was announced as the party’s oldest candidate.
