Wike’s presence at PDP Bot Meeting causes stir

Must read

Governor Nyesom Wike of River State stormed the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting earlier today (PDP).

Governors, according to the Daily Times, are not members of the BoT and do not attend the party’s BoT sessions.

Wike’s unexpected arrival in the National Executive Committee (NEC) hall upset several PDP Board of Trustees members, according to sources.

When Wike entered the room, PDP National Chairman Prince Uche Secondus was giving his opening speech.

Many heads turned to see the Governor arrive, who took his place among the guests right away.

It was unclear at the time of reporting this story if the governor was attending the meeting on the BoT’s invitation.

The Governor, who was visibly irritated, was given the attendance register to sign as soon as he took his seat after spotting a pair of white short-sleeved kaftan with a red Igbo traditional headgear.

For the past few months, Wike has been at odds with Secondus, and he is widely regarded to be the brains behind ongoing efforts to depose the party chairman.
