Reps Pass 3% Unlisted Host Community Fund Despite Protest

Must read

The House of Representatives has just adopted 3 percent for host towns in the Petroleum Industry Bill, PIB, despite it not being on the Order paper for consideration.

The report was withdrawn by the House on Thursday, following fury from Niger Delta members who insisted on the initial approval of the 5%.

After opposition members walked out of the chamber in rage over the Electoral Act Amendment Bill, the 3 percent host community clause was passed.
